State of Kuwait Embassy in Yemen

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) assigned Pace to provide design and supervision services for Kuwait Embassy and The Ambassador’s Residence in Yemen on a plot of 13,212 m2 area.
Pace entered into a joint venture partnership with a specialized local consultant, Hani Sahooly & Partners, in order to ensure a fully qualified, experienced and technical team were in place and to guarantee a project that follows the building regulations of Yemen.
The building comprises 4 main zones, which are Embassy Building, Consulate Building, Diwan Building and the Ambassador’s Residence, in addition to the external areas of landscape and internal roads.
The project has been designed to take into consideration the local site context whilst reflecting a traditional Kuwaiti style.
Externally, the architectural envelope is enlivened by the use of a contemporary interpretation of a traditional architectural style.
The architectural mass makes best use of the site and expresses the gravity and importance expected from a building of this stature.
A total Built Up area of 8,738 m2 has been allocated as per the approved space program and project components.
An efficient planning strategy was accomplished in the design that separates the different types of required functions. Circulation flow was also carefully studied and designed to ensure harmony and integrity among main entrances and exits and specified emergency exits.
The project’s internal and external designs was rigorously developed and tested with the client in order to meet the design brief.
